Fit Metrics Explorer – iPadOS & Mac Fit File Viewer
Fit Metrics Explorer is a MacOS and iPadOS application for viewing exercise files, such as Garmin .fit files. It provides display of the file’s data as graphs, route maps and detailed device data. The app will read a number of file formats including .fit, .gpx, .tcx and .srm* filetypes.
*Note that only some .srm formats are supported. For newer formats, export the file as a .fit from SRM’s MacOS or Windows software.

Viewing
Using the app, you can view the files’s data as graphs, tables and as a route map. Detailed information about the devices used to create the data is also available, including the battery levels for individual devices.
Analysis
Basic analysis can be performed on the data, including time in heart rate and power zones (both user defined zones and on-device zones), and some basic analysis for power data – W’ Balance, Quadrant Analysis and Mean Maximal Power.
If you have Shimano Di2 or SRAM AXS on your bike, you’ll also be able to see your gear usage data, showing how much time you sent in each of your gear combinations.

MultiSport
Fit File Viewer can read and display multi-sport fit files. Each portion of the file can be displayed separately.
Exporting
The data can be exported in a number of formats, including .fit and .gpx. As part of the export process, the start date and time of the data can be changed. The device settings for the file can also be changed, correcting any errors that may have occurred during file generation.

Certain data types, such as heart rate or power, can also be removed as part of the export process.
Export Formats
- Garmin .fit Activity and Course files
- GPX Activity and route files
- .csv
