Pennan
Pennan is another of the small fishing village situated along the Moray coast. It’s similar to Crovie in that it’s a single row of houses at the foot of a cliff, but Pennan is a little bigger, with a hotel and a harbour.
The village gained fame as the fictional village of Ferness in the 1983 film ‘Local Hero’. Pennan’s now-famous red telephone box featured in the film, although it was actually a prop, and a real phone box was installed in the village a number of years later.
