Ruined Croft, Tifty

This is a set of photographs of an abandoned croft, a short distance from my home in Aberdeenshire.

The croft appears on the Ordinance Survey maps from the 1870s. I don’t know when it was last occupied – there’s no longer a visible road or track to it – I suspect it’s been long removed by the years of cultivation of the surrounding fields.

In the early 1980s, the buildings were still roofed, but these were removed soon after that to reclaim the slates. The buildings have now partially collapsed and are slowly being reclaimed by nature. The drone pictures, taken in the snow, show the layout of the buildings and the positions of the remaining walls.
