JBST Camps Days 4 & 5

Day 4 consisted of a morning recovery bike ride of 1:30, in the small ring for the entire ride.

In the afternoon a mini duathlon event was run, won by World Long Course Gold Medallist Lee Piercy.

Day 5 starting with a morning ride of 2:30, out towards Uga, then to St. Bartolome, La Florida and back to Tinajo.

After the ride, Phil led us on a 4 km run around the lagoon.

The ride felt ok, but I’ve been experiencing a pain in my neck over the past couple of rides, which became more acute on this ride. I’m not sure if it’s something that’s been caused by my bike dimensions being slightly off after transporting my bike here or something else – thankfully, there’s only one ride left, although it is a 3-1/2 hr ride over Fire Mountain, round El Golfo, up the killer climb to Memes, then back over Fire Mountain again.

  • JBST Camp Day 6

Day six dawned pretty windy, and it looked like the ride out over Fire Mountain to Femes would be interesting, to say the least! Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it!) the ride was cancelled for safety reasons. The morning’s mini-triathlon was also affected by the wind, making the bike leg from…
