Interesting… Garmin acquires Dynastream
Dynastream supplies the footpod technologies to both Polar and Nike for its Speed & Distance HRMs. Since these are a competitior to Garmin’s GPS based systems, it’ll be interesting to see how these products develop. Garmin has recently introduced a footpod for it’s Forerunner models, mainly for use on treadmills, where the GPS is obviously of little use.
They also developed the ANT personal network system, used for a wide variety of sports products, include electonic ski bindings from Atomic and Polar’s and Suunto’s HRMs.
