JBST Camp Day 6
Day six dawned pretty windy, and it looked like the ride out over Fire Mountain to Femes would be interesting, to say the least! Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it!) the ride was cancelled for safety reasons.
The morning’s mini-triathlon was also affected by the wind, making the bike leg from Club la Santa up to Tinajo particularly hard going. I opted out of this, doing the 12 km portion of Saturday’s run instead. The wind made it hard going in places, particularly on the up hill sections.
The day ended with an excellent meal in the La Casa Restaurant in the Club la Santa complex, where various awards were made for the camp’s races and other achievements, including ‘Bonk of the Week’.
All-in-all, an excellent week of training. Thanks to Joe, Dan, Phil, Pete, Tanja and the rest of the crew – we’ll be back there next year.
