Spring Triathlon Camp 2017

Another training camp is over. We had a fantastic two weeks at Club la Santa. The first week was the Spring Triathlon camp with Joe Beer and Dan Bullock, and the second was intended to be aĀ bit of a holiday, but ended up being a training week as well, albeit with a sight-seeing trip to Timanfaya National Park.

Totals for the Camp:

Cycling: 22 hrs 30 mins 418km
Running: 6 hrs 11 mins 49.8km
Swimming: 5 hrs 05 mins 5500m

I’m just back from aĀ week at Club la Santa in Lanzarote. This is my 6th or 7thĀ stay here, and it’s one of my favourite places to train on this planet. I’m just back from a couple of weeks training at Club la Santa in Lanzarote.  This is the 8th or 9th time I’ve been to Club la Santa. It’s a great place for a training camp at this time of year – the weather’s generally in the 18 – 23 degree range, although it can…

On Sunday, I took part in the MPH Westhill Triathlon. This was my first triathlon for a couple of years – in fact, I was starting to wonder if I could still call myself a triathlete! I’d opted for the short distance (400 m swim/16 km bike/3.2 km run) instead of the sprint distance which…

  • 2016 Roundup

It’s been a bit quiet here recently, mainly as I didn’t race for all of 2016 – this wasn’t really intentional, just how things worked out. I was too late signing up for some races, and others were cancelled for this year. I’ve still biked and ran as much as ever, and probably swam the…

  • Fraserburgh Half-Marathon

Yesterday, I ran the Fraserburgh Half-Marathon. This was my first road half since 2007 – I’d originally wanted to do the Crathes half, but, as usual, I waited too long to enter and it was full. My primary aim was to break the 2 hour barrier, or at least to be close to my last…

    Suie Classic 2019

Last weekend, I took part in the Suie Classic, a 54 mile bike ride that’s part of the Great Inverurie Bike ride. The Great Inverurie Bike ride started out many years ago as a 25 mile sponsored event. In the last couple of years, a longer, 54 mile option has been added. The route follows…
